After a slow start the seniors were able to come back strongly and put themselves straight through to the Grand Final. Unfortunately, the reserves were outplayed in their final and were not able to get up for Parko’s 200th.
Murrumbeena FNC finished minor premier after dominating division 3 third team Ashwood, 18.15 to 6.16. The league ladder posted last night showed Murrumbeena with 14 wins and 164 pc ahead of second placed Black Rock, 14 wins, 160pc. NAIDOC Round 2022 was celebrated at MFNC this weekend in grand style!! The players wore specially designed and made jumpers, the Netballers had dresses made in the same print and all in attendance joined in a traditional Indigenous smoking ceremony prior to the main game. For MFNC seniors, it was not a happy day, beaten by Ashwood 12.8 to 10.10 in James Shirley’s 100th game.
