Proudly supporting the Murrumbeena Football Netball Club
You couldn’t create a better name for a coterie or a supporters’ group! The Hasbeenas was founded in 1991 by Kevin Reid and Chris Dent, assisted by Damian Mountjoy and the late Ross Gould. Fifteen years later in 2006, a group led by Ken Jungwirth (still pumped after kicking the winning goal in the 1963 grand final) was formed to revive the Hasbeenas.
Some successful functions at the South Oakleigh Club led to the formation of a Coterie ($500 membership) in 2008, that raised significant funds to meet specific club priorities – the cancellation of a long-standing credit card debt and financial support for an Under 18s team. Our club was very grateful for this support.
The Coterie organized successful functions at the Emerald Hotel and the Rosstown Hotel. However, it is an inevitable fact of life that membership has fallen away as people retired, passed away or moved from the local area. Let’s get the Hasbeenas going again.
