SENIOR LIONS’ GO BACK TO BACK

Sth Yarra

Murrumbeena FNC picked up where the dominant women’s team finished, and overwhelmed South Yarra 16.10 to 4.7. Sam Templeton is seen in this photo, ready to deliver again to the hungry forwards. There was a good Beena crowd there on the weekend and it was a lot of fun after the Girls and Reserves also had solid wins. Great to see you. Soak up our club’s revival.

It was a great day for the netballers @ MFNC. We had three teams on the court’s thanks to the support of our returning and new players to the club. We have now finished 2 weeks of grading and looking forward to a 2022 season filled with success, friendships and fun.

Building, building, the MFNC women’s footy team is building for a tilt at finals. Another former Beena player Lauren Wolf joined old and new and returning faces on the field as Beena trounced South Yarra 130 points to nil in a grading fixture. The Williams sisters both missed but as Con the grocer used to say, dunna matta. The wagon rolled on as switched-around defenders grabbed opportunities to goal too.

Bentleigh Red demonised Murrumbeena Football Netball Club in the under-19s, 200 points to nil. Thirty seconds remained when Bentleigh had 199 points. It posted the 200th point with three seconds to go. Beena efforts to limit the damage, with five players unavailable, shattered. The good news is …it was a grading game. The bad news is Beena is due to play Bentleigh’s second team Blue on April 23. Bentleigh’s under-age program is a colossus. Beena will bounce back.
